Thirty Years of Magic, Laughter and Amazement
Hello, I’m Mick Peck – although families across Auckland know me simply as Mr Magic!
My journey as a professional magician began in 1994, when I presented my first magic show while I was still at school. I never imagined it would grow into a full-time career, but more than thirty years later I’m still lucky to be doing something I love.
Since then, I’ve entertained thousands of audiences throughout New Zealand – from family celebrations to corporate functions and VIP occasions.
Over the years, I’ve been profiled in publications including The New Zealand Herald, Canvas Magazine, Sunday Star-Times and Metro.
For me, the best part of being a magician is seeing the reactions: watching a child experience the wonder of magic for the first time, hearing a room full of adults burst into laughter, or seeing a birthday child light up as they become the star of the show.
Industry Recognition
Over my career as a professional entertainer, I’ve been fortunate to receive a number of honours and awards.
In 2015, I was invited to join The Magic Circle of London, the world’s most respected magic organisation. Membership recognises magicians who have demonstrated a high level of skill, knowledge and commitment to the art of magic.
The Variety Artists Club of New Zealand named me New Zealand’s Top Children’s Entertainer in 2011 and 2014, before I was voted New Zealand Variety Entertainer of the Year in 2016.
In 2020, David Hartnell MNZM included me in his Best Dressed Men in New Zealand Showbusiness list.
In 2024, I was honoured to receive the Variety Artists Club Scroll of Honour for my contribution to the entertainment industry and charitable organisations.
Award-Winning Customer Service
I was honoured to receive the Auckland Chamber of Commerce Awesome Service Award, following a nomination from a happy customer.
This award recognises businesses providing inspirational customer service and was supported by the Sunday Star-Times and Newstalk ZB. It was presented by Auckland Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Michael Barnett MNZM.

A Career Among Great Company
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of entertaining some very well-known guests at private events and industry functions, including Hollywood stars Jason Momoa and Jack Black, members of the legendary rock group Queen, and two New Zealand Prime Ministers.
I’ve also had the opportunity to work alongside many of New Zealand’s most recognised entertainers and personalities, including Richard O’Brien (creator and star of The Rocky Horror Show), Mark Hadlow, Rima Te Wiata, Rena Owen, Jeremy Corbett, The Topp Twins, Hilary Barry and Jon Toogood of Shihad.
